Residential Services

Domestic Rewire

We have established an outstanding reputation in Bristol and Bath for our specialists skills in domestic rewires and replacement fuse boards where our electricians experience is second to none. Kingpin Electrical is approved for rewires under the City of Bristol Care and Repair scheme and registered with Age Concern.

A “neat job” is our slogan. At each stage we will discuss the preferred method of installation so that the job has a neat appearance as well as guaranteed safety. We always seek to minimise disturbance during a rewire. We use protective coverings and work around furniture as required and vacuum-clean each day!

By this, we aim to perform our work to the entire satisfaction of our customers.

9

Why Rewire?

Consider the pace of change taking place in households. We are all surrounded by electrical equipment and gadgets. The demands on electrical installations are ever increasing. There comes a time when there is an overwhelming case for a new start: a modernisation of the electrical system: a rewire.

9

Enhanced Safety

New Electrical Standards are designed to increase safety of those using the installation. (Nowadays this includes young children). A rewire not only gives you the opportunity for more and better placed electrical outlets but takes advantage of increased safety features, including modern safety devices and fuse boards, which provide protection from electrical shock and fire, often caused by ageing electrical wiring.

The latest Regulations ensure that cables buried in walls do not present the safety hazards that they used to under the previous Regulations.

9

Guarantee of Standards

Kingpin Electrical is an Approved NICEIC Electrical Contractor. We participate in the NICEIC 10-year Guarantee of Standards Scheme which ensures the work is satisfactorily completed and meets all of the required standards and workmanship.

Kingpin Electrical is fully Part ‘P’ compliant under the Building Regulations as a registered competent electrical contractor.

9

Warranty and Certificates

On completion of the work you will receive the following Certification:

1) A 6 year Warranty:
covering the work carried out.

2) A Certificate of Building Regulation Compliance:
registered with your Local Authority detailing that the rewire work complies with the Building Regulations.

3) An Electrical Installation Certificate to BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations:
giving full details of circuits, fuses, protective devices, wiring and test results and confirming that the work complies with the current Regulations.

We use the latest NICEIC software systems to provide you with an accurate, high quality, full colour and readable report which can be a PDF file or a printed paper report.

Domestic New-build

The success of our working relationships on new build projects stems from vigilance and awareness of time critical events encountered in this type of multi-trade work. We are able to be flexible in response to the demands invariably experienced.

9

A wider scope of works

These days, the electrical scope of works for domestic new-build encompasses more than just the main electrical installation. Fire alarms, intruder alarms and systems such as multi-zone underfloor heating controls and multi-scene lighting control networks all need to be properly installed, tested, commissioned and documented to the satisfaction of the final customer.

Heating controls often have demand-anticipating algorithms and remote temperature sensors. There are audio distribution systems and television distribution switches coupled with CCTV, their aerials and dishes. Wired data-networks incorporating voice and radio links with a central hub and flexible outlet locations are common now in the domestic domain.

We are now seeing multi-system outlets incorporated into discreetly placed floor boxes, something previously only found in commercial builds. These systems are sometimes so integrated that they border on building management systems.

9

Our wider experience

It is our wide experience of such systems that keeps us abreast of new demands in these areas. Not only are we able to incorporate this type of work into our overall planning and procurement for the installation process but we are able to utilise our experience when it comes to commissioning and demonstrating them to the final customer.

And even before first-stage installation begins, and even for the more basic of installations, care needs to be exercised in deciding how the various disparate components are to be connected up and which types of cables are required to be run. These details are not usually specified and unless early consideration is given, other trades can be delayed, reworking may be unavoidable and inefficiencies result.

That’s where our wider experience counts to good effect. So to discus your new-build proposals, contact Kingpin Electrical today!

Testimonials

I’ve used Kingpin on numerous occasions and they’ve always been very reliable and always done a great job!

Work was completed earlier than estimated and the cost reduced accordingly which does not happen often. I can’t recommend this company highly enough.

Mark the electrician was excellent, very professional and helpful. Explained everything and nothing was too much trouble. Will be using them again in the near future.

Kingpin, are excellent, always very professional, we have used them before, had a shower installed, plus other lighting fitted, each individual electrician that came where smart, polite, and professional at all times

Extremely efficient from first contact. I required an upgrade to the feed tails into the house to allow a new electric hot water and heating system to be installed. I was advised by David that I should also upgrade the fuse box.

They did an amazing job, kept informed through out what was going on and timings. Kept to deadline and left everything clean and tidy. Highly recommended
